The veterinarian Karoline Rieckmann has been a research assistant at the Institute of Bacteriology and Mycology since 2015. She has just submitted her dissertation with the topic "Characterization of neglected Streptococcus suis pathotypes: molecular epidemiology and IdeSsuis-based vaccination approaches", which includes four publications in international journals. During her research activities, she has continuously expanded important collaborations of the Institute with the Department for ruminants and swine (Prof. Kauffold, among others), the Institute of Pathology (Dr. Kristin Klose, among others) and the Institute of Immunology (Dr. Nicole Schütze, among others).
