The teaching garden for the design of the inner courtyard was created at the suggestion of our institute as part of a student project and is supported by the Friends of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.

Marcus Tullius Cicero (106 - 43 B.C.)

What Cicero knew can only help a student. Thus the idea was born to design a "Veterinary Teaching and Experimental Garden" that would give students the opportunity to experience and care for plants relevant to veterinary medicine, as well as those that serve as food for humans*

Beginning with a project work in 2013, the teaching and experimental garden has since been lovingly maintained and occasionally expanded.

All students, staff and interested parties are welcome to pay a visit to the courtyard of Food Hygiene, Biochemistry, etc. There are beautiful plants to admire, interesting things to discover and even some songbirds make themselves comfortable in the courtyard from time to time.

If you would like to help, please contact Prof. Braun or Mrs. Dobeleit. We are happy about every helping hand!
