Mrs. Viktoria Rungelrath is on fire for bacteriology. She has demonstrated this with her outstanding dissertation on "Characterisation of IgG proteolysis by Streptococcus phocae subsp. phocae and IgM proteolysis by Streptococcus suis". Their commitment was acknowledged accordingly on 28.06.2019 during the ceremonial presentation of the dissertation certificates.

 

Ms. Viktoria Rungelrath, who is currently working at the Rocky Moutain Laboratories of the NIH (National Institutes of Health), in the Laboratory of Bacteriology in the pathogen-host cell biology section in the USA in the state of Montana, has been awarded the Wilhelm Ellenberger Prize for the best dissertation in 2018. The award ceremony took place in the Paulinum during the graduation ceremony. Dr. Rungelrath's work on "Characterisation of IgG proteolysis by Streptococcus phocae subsp. phocae and IgM proteolysis by Streptococcus suis" was supervised by Prof. Dr. Christoph Baums, who also gave the laudatory speech.
