The Institute of Bacteriology and Mycology is part of the Centre for Infectious Diseases (CID) at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, which also includes the Institute of Immunology, Institute of Parasitology and Institute of Virology.

We focus on the elucidation of pathogen-host interactions, on the identification of virulence factors and on vaccine research of veterinary important bacterial and mycological pathogens.

History

Our institute was founded over 25 years ago

The Institute of Bacteriology and Mycology has its origins in the 1902 created chair for animal hygiene, bacteriology and infectious diseases.
