The Dres. Jutta & Georg Bruns Foundation supports excellent veterinarian at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Leipzig. The doctoral student Ms. Maria Wald will work in an interdisciplinary team around Dr. habil. Claudia Claus (Institute of Virology, University Hospital Leipzig) and Dr. Michael Sieg (Institute of Virology, VMF Leipzig) . The project will initially run for two years and will investigate the molecular pathogenesis of Usutu-Virus infection in the reservoir host bird and in humans.
