Biochemist Ms. Elisabeth Greßler successfully defended her PhD on important aspects of human cryptococcosis on April 8, 2022.

In her three-year work entitled "An immunoproteomic approach for identification of Cryptococcus neoformans proteins recognized by murine and human antibodies", Ms. Greßler identified important proteins of the human pathogenic fungus C. neoformans that will allow the development of therapies and vaccination strategies. Cryptococcosis still causes the deaths of more than 100,000 people every year.

Their findings have been published in several papers
