The description of CD4/CD8-double-positive T cells in dogs is still relatively new. The institute has set itself the task of characterising the double-positive cell populations and deciphering their function. Veterinarian Mrs. Rabiger, led by Dr. Eschke, found important facts in her doctoral thesis which have now been published.
Canine tissue-associated CD4+CD8α+ double-positive T cells are an activated T cell subpopulation with heterogeneous functional potential.
