Mrs. Viktoria Rungelrath burns for bacteriology. She has demonstrated this with her outstanding dissertation on "Characterization of IgG proteolysis by Streptococcus phocae subsp. phocae and IgM proteolysis by Streptococcus suis". Their commitment was honoured accordingly on 28.06.2019 during the presentation ceremony of the dissertation certificates.

Ms. Viktoria Rungelrath, who today works in the Rocky Moutain Laboratories of the NIH (National Institutes of Health), in the Laboratory of Bacteriology in the field of pathogen-host cell biology section in the USA in the federal state of Montana, has been awarded the Wilhelm Ellenberger Prize for Best Dissertation in 2018. The award ceremony took place at the Paulinum. Dr. Rungelrath's work on the topic "Characterization of IgG proteolysis by Streptococcus phocae subsp. phocae and IgM proteolysis by Streptococcus suis" was supervised by Prof. Dr. Christoph Baums, who also gave the laudatory speech.
