We are very pleased with Karoline Rieckmann about this award of the Bundesverband Praktizierender Tierärzte e.V. (bpt).

The veterinarian Karoline Rieckmann has been a research assistant at the Institute of Bacteriology and Mycology since 2015.

She has just submitted her dissertation entitled "Characterization of neglected Streptococcus suis pathotypes: molecular epidemiology and IdeSsuis-based vaccination approaches", which includes four publications in international journals. During her research activities she has continuously expanded important collaborations of the institute with the Clinic for Claw Animals (Prof. Kauffold, among others), the Institute of Veterinary Pathology (Dr. Kristin Klose, among others) and the Institute of Immunology (Dr. Nicole Schütze, among others). We congratulate her warmly on this recognition by the bpt for many hours of hard work in the barn, in the section hall, in the laboratory and at her desk.
