History

The Leipzig Institute of Virology was founded on 30 August 1994 and celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2019.
First, Prof. Dr. Hermann Müller was appointed as its director in 1994. Since 2010 Prof. Dr. Dr. Thomas W. Vahlenkamp is head of the Institute of Virology.
